RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE BEST BREW
Certain factors during the brewing process can also be changed to make the espresso even better.
1 – THE TEMPERATURE
Our first recommendation is with regard to the temperature. To enjoy a piping hot coffee, there are two solutions: the first is to heat the mug before brewing, and the second is to run a half cup of water through the machine once it’s reached the proper temperature.
This second solution performs two functions. It means that the machine is cleaned constantly, which increases the machine’s longevity, and also means that the coffee leaves the machine at a much higher temperature. Last but not least, the result is better because you need clean water to make a great espresso.
2 – A SPECIAL BARISTA TRICK
Our second recommendation is a trick that real baristas use while making espressos. We recommend allowing a little bit of boiling water to flow inside the capsule while pushing the brew button for about two seconds until a few drops of coffee come out. Then, immediately stop the brewing process and then restart it as usual.
3 – THE WATER
The third recommendation is with regard to the water used. As we’ve already emphasized, it’s best if the machine is run “empty” frequently to ensure it’s always clean. This increases both the life of the machine and the quality of the coffee. It’s also good to check the characteristics of the tap water in your home, especially the limestone levels. Over the long term, overly hard water can block the four small holes at the entrance of the WayCap capsule.
You can wash the compatible capsule in your dishwasher, and if the holes begin to be blocked with limestone, you can use a very small gauge sewing needle to clean them.
